WhatsApp does not have a traditional hidden recycle bin. The expression refers to its storage-management section, where users can identify photos, videos, audio files and documents consuming the most space on their phones.
To access it, users must open WhatsApp, enter Settings, select Storage and data, and tap Manage storage. The application then displays total space usage, large files and the conversations accumulating the most multimedia content.
Users can delete selected media without removing written messages or entire conversations. Files should be reviewed carefully before deletion because they may not be recoverable without a previous backup.
Disabling automatic downloads and limiting videos in backups can also prevent storage from filling up again.
