Tobey Maguire and jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer have officially ended their marriage after spending roughly a decade separated. The former couple were declared legally single on September 21, with the judgment later filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on October 1. The decision closes a marriage that had effectively ended long before the court finalized it.
Maguire, 51, and Meyer, 49, married in September 2007 and share two children, Ruby and Otis. They announced their separation in 2016 after nearly nine years of marriage, while Meyer formally filed for divorce in 2020. Maguire responded to the proceedings years later, in 2025, extending an already lengthy legal process. Their case ultimately moved forward through a bifurcated procedure, allowing their marital status to be resolved while other matters remained under discussion.
The former couple had agreed to appoint a private judge to help mediate outstanding issues connected with their broader settlement. That approach allowed them to legally end the marriage without waiting for every remaining financial or procedural detail to be completed.
