Technology Fortunes Surge as AI Reshapes the World’s Wealthiest Elite

Artificial intelligence, cloud computing and semiconductors are concentrating unprecedented wealth at the top of the global economy.

Technology entrepreneurs dominate the world’s billionaire rankings in October 2026, reflecting how artificial intelligence, aerospace, cloud infrastructure, semiconductors and digital platforms have become some of the most powerful engines of private wealth creation. The ten richest people in the world now hold an estimated combined fortune of approximately $3.1 trillion, up from $2.8 trillion only a month earlier.

Elon Musk remains far ahead with an estimated net worth of $936 billion. His fortune increased by around $44 billion during September, supported partly by a rise in SpaceX’s valuation. Musk retains nearly 11 percent of Tesla while also remaining closely associated with SpaceX and xAI, concentrating his wealth across electric vehicles, aerospace and artificial intelligence.

Jeff Bezos occupies second place with approximately $370 billion after adding an extraordinary $102 billion during September. The increase reflects new private valuations for Blue Origin, estimated above $130 billion, and Prometheus, valued at approximately $41 billion. His fortune demonstrates how private technology and aerospace companies can now generate wealth shifts comparable to movements in publicly traded markets.

Google cofounder Larry Page follows with an estimated $286 billion, while Sergey Brin holds approximately $263 billion. Both retain substantial economic exposure to Alphabet and have become increasingly involved in the company’s artificial intelligence strategy as competition intensifies across the sector.

Michael Dell has also risen rapidly, reaching an estimated fortune of $268 billion after Dell Technologies shares gained around 18 percent. Demand for servers and infrastructure supporting artificial intelligence has transformed traditional computing hardware into a central component of the current AI investment cycle.

Mark Zuckerberg’s wealth has climbed to approximately $251 billion following a strong increase in Meta shares. Jensen Huang of Nvidia, Larry Ellison of Oracle and former Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer remain among the other technology figures occupying the highest levels of global wealth.

The composition of the ranking reveals something larger than individual success. The greatest fortunes are increasingly tied to ownership of the infrastructure through which artificial intelligence is built, trained, distributed and commercialized. Chips, data centers, cloud platforms, social networks and aerospace systems have become strategic economic assets.

The numbers also demonstrate the extraordinary concentration produced when founders maintain large equity positions as companies scale globally.

The new wealth hierarchy is therefore telling a broader economic story. Artificial intelligence is not only transforming products and employment. It is already reorganizing where some of the largest concentrations of private capital in history are being created.
