Regina Sirvent accelerates the gamer connection: Nintendo Switch 2 launches its new ad with Mario Kart

It is not only about playing, it is about feeling the race together.

Mexico City, September 2025 Nintendo Latin America has launched a new campaign featuring Regina Sirvent, the Mexican racing driver, as the main figure. The commercial promotes the Nintendo Switch 2 console and highlights a new feature called GameChat, which allows real-time communication between players while competing in Mario Kart World. The campaign builds a bridge between the thrill of real racing and the shared digital driving experience.

Sirvent, known as the first Mexican woman to step onto the podium in NASCAR Mexico, embodies values of perseverance, competitiveness and passion. In the ad she appears inviting other players to form teams, plan strategies, laugh and compete, with GameChat as the tool that makes interaction feel like a real pit lane conversation rather than a mere virtual exchange.

Nintendo’s decision to record and release the commercial in Mexico City reflects a deliberate focus on Latin America, where gaming culture continues to expand rapidly. The campaign is distributed in thirty-second formats across traditional and digital media, with the clear goal of strengthening the brand’s regional presence by connecting with local symbols and authentic stories.

GameChat is presented as the distinctive innovation of Switch 2. It enables live voice interaction between players without relying on text or external platforms. Until March 31, 2026, this feature will remain free to access, after which it will require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. A Nintendo account, internet connection and in some cases compatible hardware for video calls are necessary for full use.

Mario Kart World was chosen as the flagship game for this campaign. The title offers dynamic circuits, customizable characters, surprise items on the track and the chance to play both online and locally. The ad emphasizes that the real fun does not come only from winning the race but from sharing every corner, every overtaking and every laugh in the process.

This corporate strategy has multiple layers. It reinforces Nintendo’s position in emerging hardware, aims to attract young gamers who demand interaction and community, and lowers entry barriers by offering GameChat temporarily without subscription. It also underlines how gaming has shifted from an individual pastime to a social environment powered by technology.

Yet challenges remain. Competitors may respond with similar social tools. Adoption could slow once the free period ends and subscription becomes mandatory. Technical factors such as latency, audio quality or device compatibility could determine whether GameChat delivers on its promise of seamless social racing.

The commercial makes it clear that Nintendo does not simply want to sell consoles, it wants to secure emotional territory. With Regina Sirvent behind the wheel, the message is that racing is no longer a solitary act. Switch 2 becomes the vehicle for building communities where the boundary between the racetrack and the living room dissolves.
