Barroso later recalled that she asked him to help rather than simply hide. Damon began serving drinks and reportedly earned substantial tips because guests wanted to interact with the Hollywood star.

Barroso’s role has also expanded beyond the family home. She has become increasingly involved in film production and now participates professionally in Artists Equity, the company established by Damon and his longtime friend Ben Affleck.
Her credits include projects connected to both actors, and Damon has said that he has trusted her judgment for more than 20 years. Her involvement formalizes an influence that was already present throughout his career.
