Jorge Martín endured a difficult Saturday at the German MotoGP but managed to limit the damage for Aprilia. The Spanish rider qualified ninth after struggling to match the pace of the leading motorcycles at Sachsenring. He later recovered three positions to finish sixth in the sprint race.
Marc Márquez dominated the day by claiming pole position and controlling the sprint from the opening laps. Álex Márquez finished second, while Fabio Di Giannantonio completed the podium. Martín remained outside the fight for victory but secured valuable championship points.
The most serious setback for Aprilia came through Marco Bezzecchi, who suffered a heavy crash during qualifying. Medical examinations confirmed an injury that prevented him from continuing in the German Grand Prix. His absence increased the pressure on Martín to deliver the factory team’s strongest result.
Aprilia’s satellite riders showed competitive pace during qualifying and demonstrated that the motorcycle still had potential at the German circuit. Martín will now need another recovery performance from the third row of the grid. Tire management and a clean opening lap will be decisive in the main race.
His sixth-place finish prevented a difficult weekend from becoming a championship crisis. Although the result lacked the brilliance expected from a title contender, Martín avoided a costly mistake and preserved important points. In a season defined by narrow margins, damage control can be as decisive as victory.
