Retaliation widens as the Hormuz crisis deepens.
Amman | July 2026
Iran said it launched coordinated missile and drone attacks against United States military facilities in Jordan, Kuwait and Iraq in response to renewed American strikes on Iranian territory.
Tehran claimed it targeted communications systems, fuel storage, radar installations and troop positions. The extent of the damage has not been independently confirmed, while regional authorities reported intercepting several projectiles.
The escalation followed a new wave of US attacks against Iranian command centers, air defenses and missile infrastructure. Washington maintains that its operations seek to protect commercial navigation and prevent further threats around the Strait of Hormuz.
The confrontation is increasingly placing neighboring countries at risk of becoming active battlefields. Each new exchange raises pressure on regional security, energy markets and the remaining diplomatic channels.
