Rodríguez announced the engagement on August 11, 2025, by sharing an image of her hand wearing the ring. Photographs alone cannot establish an accurate carat weight because perspective, finger size, setting depth and stone proportions can distort visual calculations. Without laboratory documentation, every figure remains an informed estimate rather than a verified fact.
The disagreement over size produces an equally wide range of valuations. Conservative estimates begin at approximately $2 million, or €1.7 million, while the highest exceed $10 million, or around €8.6 million. Heritage Auctions placed the likely value closer to $3 million. Other specialists proposed a range between $2 million and $5 million, depending on the diamond’s colour, clarity, cut and provenance.
A diamond’s price cannot be determined by size alone. A colourless stone graded D, with no visible inclusions and exceptional cutting quality, can command a dramatically higher value than another diamond of similar weight. Certification from a recognized laboratory would also influence the market’s confidence, while association with Ronaldo and Rodríguez could create an additional celebrity premium. The identity of the designer could raise the valuation further if the ring came from a major jewellery house.
Even at the lowest estimate, the piece ranks among the most valuable celebrity engagement rings of the past two decades. It has been compared with the 35-carat emerald-cut diamond James Packer gave Mariah Carey and the 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz design associated with Kim Kardashian. Another comparison is the approximately 30-carat pink diamond Jeff Bezos presented to Lauren Sánchez. Rodríguez’s ring may surpass some of these pieces in visual scale, although the lack of confirmed specifications prevents a definitive ranking.
The fascination surrounding the jewel reflects more than curiosity about luxury. Ronaldo is one of the world’s most commercially recognizable athletes, while Rodríguez has built an international profile connected to fashion, entertainment and high-end lifestyle branding.
