Miley Cyrus has begun presenting herself professionally as simply “Miley” while announcing her tenth studio album, Bass Persuades. Her official website, social-media profiles and promotional materials now use the mononym, placing her alongside performers such as Cher, Madonna and Beyoncé whose first names function as complete artistic identities.
The change should not yet be described as a confirmed legal alteration. Miley has not announced that she has removed Cyrus from her government name or submitted formal documentation. Available evidence supports an artistic rebranding connected to the album rather than the complete rejection of her family surname.
Bass Persuades will be released through Atlantic Records, marking Miley’s first album for the label after leaving Columbia Records. The ten-track project follows Something Beautiful, her visual album released in 2025. Promotional material suggests a bass-heavy combination of electronic music, pop and rock, although the complete record has not yet been made available for critical evaluation.
Miley has described the album as an emotional journey encompassing love, heartbreak and the experiences between them. Reports linking its title directly to her relationship with musician Maxx Morando remain interpretive unless confirmed by the artist. She has discussed love and personal growth as central themes, but has not presented the project as a straightforward autobiographical account.
The singer will support the album with two performances at the Hollywood Bowl, with Model/Actriz appearing as the opening act. The concerts represent her first major run of full US shows in several years, although she has participated in selected performances and special events during that period.
Removing “Cyrus” from the promotional identity gives the campaign a simple and immediately recognisable visual language. It also directs attention toward Miley as an independent cultural brand rather than encouraging unverified narratives about conflict with her family.
