The four-time world champion unveiled a Delft-inspired design for what is scheduled to be his last Formula 1 home Grand Prix at the Dutch circuit.
Zandvoort, Netherlands, August 14, 2026.— Max Verstappen will pay tribute to his country and its supporters with a special helmet created for the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix, the final Formula 1 race currently scheduled at Circuit Zandvoort.
The predominantly white-and-blue design draws inspiration from Delftware, the traditional Dutch pottery known for its intricate cobalt patterns. It also incorporates Verstappen’s lion emblem and details connected to his national identity.
The helmet replaces the bright orange frequently associated with Verstappen’s home events with a more traditional visual reference to the Netherlands. Its design reflects both a celebration of Dutch culture and a farewell to a race that has become one of Formula 1’s most recognizable spectacles.
Zandvoort returned to the championship in 2021 after a 36-year absence. Its narrow layout, banked corners and grandstands filled by the “Orange Army” quickly transformed the event into a defining part of the European calendar.
Verstappen’s success accelerated that transformation. He won the first three Dutch Grands Prix following the circuit’s return, turning each appearance into a national sporting occasion.
The circuit’s existing agreement concludes after the 2026 edition, and its organizers decided not to pursue another extension. Formula 1 has therefore described the upcoming weekend as the final Dutch Grand Prix, although a future return has not been ruled out permanently.
The event will take place from August 21 to 23 and will include a Sprint for the first time. That format will give Verstappen two competitive opportunities to perform before his home supporters during the farewell weekend.
For the Dutch driver, the helmet represents more than a temporary change of colors. It recognizes the country that has followed his career and the circuit where his achievements helped create one of Formula 1’s most distinctive modern traditions.
