Marc Márquez has responded to those who question the continuing limitations of his right arm, explaining that the problem is neither an excuse nor an exaggerated story. The Ducati rider published an image showing the pronounced muscular difference between his arms after repeated injuries, nerve damage and nine surgical procedures.
His difficulties began with the serious fracture suffered at Jerez in 2020 and intensified after another accident in Indonesia in 2025. A displaced bone fragment compressed the radial nerve, causing pain, loss of strength and moments in which Márquez struggled to control the arm. Further surgery improved the condition but could not restore normal function completely.
Specialist Samuel Antuña, one of the doctors involved in his treatment, has stated that the affected arm will never return to its original condition. Márquez and his medical team have adapted his rehabilitation, riding technique and physical preparation to compensate for the permanent imbalance.
The discussion returned after Márquez won both the sprint and main race at Aragón. His performance demonstrated that he remains capable of competing at the highest level, but the physical effort required left him exhausted. He has now asked for the subject to receive less attention because repeated questions about the injury consume mental energy needed for the championship fight.
Only 24 points separate MotoGP’s three leading contenders before the San Marino Grand Prix. Márquez therefore arrives at Misano seeking to shift the conversation from his medical history to his performance, while recognising that the condition of his arm remains part of the competitive reality.
Results reveal performance, but they rarely reveal its physical cost.
