The move follows earlier signs of separation from Brad Pitt’s surname. Maddox had recently been credited as Maddox Jolie while working on Couture, Angelina Jolie’s film, after previously using Jolie-Pitt in connection with Maria. That shift moved from symbolic use into legal territory.

Shiloh legally removed Pitt from her name after turning 18, while Zahara and Vivienne have also used Jolie without Pitt in public or professional settings.
