Continental titles will be decided at an iconic motorsport venue.
MONTMELÓ, SPAIN — July 2026. Leading European climbers will gather at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from July 17 to 19 for the GRAVITEO Urban Sports Festival. The event will feature the European Boulder Championship alongside a World Climbing Europe Series speed competition. The famous motorsport venue will be transformed into a major arena for competitive climbing and urban sports.
Spain will enter eight athletes in the boulder championship, divided equally between the men’s and women’s categories. Guillermo Peinado, a semifinalist at the 2025 World Championship, and Geila Macià, a World Cup finalist, will lead the national team. Manuel Pastor, Hugo Martín, Bernat Munné, Lucía Sempere, Aida Torres and Miriam Díez complete the Spanish lineup.

The speed competition will also bring together prominent continental specialists. Leslie Romero arrives after setting a Spanish record of 6.26 seconds over the 14-meter wall, while Carla Martínez remains another of Spain’s leading competitors. Their presence strengthens the host country’s prospects during a weekend featuring two distinct climbing disciplines.
Boulder competitors will face five problems during the qualification phase under an onsight format similar to that used at World Championships and international series. Semifinals and finals will take place on July 19, with prize money awarded to the top three finishers in each category. Public admission will be free, although advance digital registration is required.
GRAVITEO will also include skateboarding, roller freestyle, scooter competitions, live music and public activities. By combining elite competition with urban culture, the festival seeks to introduce climbing to broader audiences and reinforce its growth following its Olympic expansion.
Barcelona’s racing circuit is preparing to exchange engines for walls, speed and gravity.
