Speaking to Vogue Italia, the singer described their Italian celebration as magical and said the couple deliberately approached the occasion from the perspective of participants rather than hosts managing an elaborate production.
The first recommendation was to experience the wedding as if they were guests. Lipa said this allowed them to enjoy the festivities without becoming consumed by schedules, logistics or expectations. The second was to keep looking for each other throughout the event so they would not become separated among relatives, friends and other attendees.
Following that advice allowed the couple to spend substantial time together and create shared memories rather than experiencing parallel versions of the same celebration. Their festivities in Sicily followed a smaller civil ceremony at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall. The Italian event extended across three days before the newlyweds travelled through Sicily, Rome and the Amalfi Coast.
Lipa said Italy has long represented calm and emotional wellbeing for her. Its culture has also influenced her imagination, particularly through performers such as Mina and Raffaella Carrà. Her connection with the country contributed to the choice of Palermo, although her comments about astrology and astrocartography should be understood as personal beliefs rather than scientifically established explanations of geographical influence.
Marriage may also reshape Lipa’s creative work. She explained that earlier songs frequently drew inspiration from searching for love or recovering from heartbreak. Her new interest is examining what happens after a stable relationship has been found, including the compromises, quieter emotions and mutual support that exist beyond romantic pursuit.
Lipa and Turner have been publicly connected since 2024 and confirmed their engagement the following year. Both maintain demanding careers, but the singer said their shared ambition helps them understand one another rather than creating competition.
