Delivery Hero Backs Uber’s €13 Billion Acquisition Offer

The deal could reshape global food delivery.

Berlin | July 2026

Delivery Hero has endorsed Uber’s €13 billion offer to acquire the German food-delivery company. Uber is proposing €41.50 in cash for each share, and Delivery Hero’s management and supervisory boards are preparing to recommend the transaction to shareholders.

The acquisition would expand Uber’s mobility and delivery operations across Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Together, the companies would operate in 99 countries and create one of the world’s largest combined transportation and delivery platforms.

Uber has pledged to preserve Delivery Hero’s Berlin workforce until at least 2029 and invest €2 billion in Germany through 2031. The funding would support corporate operations, autonomous-vehicle development and partnerships with the German automotive industry.

The transaction still requires regulatory approval and the support of at least 50% plus one Delivery Hero share. The companies expect the acquisition to close during the second half of 2027, while overlapping operations in several markets would be sold.
