Dark Cherry Could Define Apple’s Next iPhone Pro Generation

Leaked colours offer an early glimpse of Apple’s strategy, but the final palette remains unconfirmed.

Apple is reportedly preparing four finishes for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max: Dark Cherry, Light Blue, Dark Gray and Silver. The information comes from supply-chain reporting and unofficial hardware samples, not from an Apple announcement. Colours may therefore be modified, renamed or removed before the devices enter mass production.

Dark Cherry is expected to become the generation’s signature finish, replacing the brighter Cosmic Orange introduced with the iPhone 17 Pro. Early representations depict a wine-like colour positioned between deep red and purple. Light Blue reportedly resembles the Sierra Blue used for the iPhone 13 Pro, while Silver would preserve a familiar neutral option.

Some reports have described the darkest model as black, but the underlying leak identifies it more precisely as Dark Gray. This distinction matters because Apple has previously tested finishes that never reached stores. The company could also decide to launch only three colours rather than all four currently under development.

The new devices are expected to retain the general form of their predecessors while reducing the two-tone difference between the aluminium frame and rear glass. Leaked designs also suggest a Dynamic Island approximately 25 percent smaller, made possible by moving some Face ID components beneath the display. Screen sizes would reportedly remain close to 6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max.

Camera improvements, a new processor and greater visual consistency across the rear panel are also anticipated. Some reports suggest the Pro Max could receive photographic capabilities unavailable on the smaller model, although the details remain uncertain. Unofficial renders and accessory components can indicate production plans, but they do not establish final specifications.

The standard iPhone 18 should not be confused with the Pro models expected first. Current reporting suggests Apple may divide the generation’s release schedule, introducing the Pro devices and a possible foldable model before launching the regular iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and another Air model later. Until Apple presents the range, its colours, names and release sequence remain credible rumours rather than confirmed products.
