Apple is reportedly preparing a wall-mounted smart display designed to become the central control hub for connected homes, expanding its ambitions beyond smartphones, tablets and computers. The device, expected to resemble a compact iPad, would allow users to manage smart home accessories, monitor security systems, communicate through video calls and access personalized information from a single location.
According to industry reports, the display is expected to feature a seven-inch touchscreen powered by a new operating system derived from tvOS and deeply integrated with Apple’s next-generation Siri. The interface would combine widgets, applications and customizable controls, allowing users to manage lighting, climate, entertainment, cameras and other compatible devices through a unified ecosystem.
One of the most distinctive features under development is the ability to recognize individual users through facial recognition technology.
