TSMC reported a record second-quarter net profit of approximately $22 billion, representing a 77% increase from the previous year. Revenue reached $40.2 billion as demand for advanced processors used in artificial intelligence systems continued expanding.
The Taiwanese manufacturer now expects its 2026 revenue to grow by slightly more than 40%, improving its previous forecast. Chief Executive C.C. Wei said demand related to artificial intelligence remains exceptionally strong and could continue at elevated levels through the end of the decade.
TSMC also announced an additional $100 billion investment to expand semiconductor production in the United States. The commitment raises its planned American investment to approximately $265 billion and could finance new facilities in Arizona dedicated to advanced chips.
The company increased its annual capital expenditure target to between $60 billion and $64 billion as it expands production capacity for major customers, including Nvidia and Apple. The results reinforce TSMC’s central role in the global AI supply chain and reveal the enormous infrastructure required to sustain its growth.
